How To Earn A Respect From Your Boss

By : Dennis

Your boss/superior may call for a meeting at anytime. During the meeting, boss may tell you about his plans or projects. If you just simply provide a simple answer, (such as yes or no) is not sufficient to earn a respect and confidence from him. I personally think that whether you agree or disagree with him, you still need to back up by your own reasons.

If you agree on that issue then just tell him why you agree with him. However, if you do not agree about what he said earlier, then you have to tell him about your reasons and try to prove that you are right. After that, if your boss insists to implement the plan according to his ideas, then you have no choice but to accept it. You have to obey his instructions even though your view is not aligned to him. Do not go against or protest him too much, because he is still your boss anyway. Telling him about the reasons behind when you agree or disagree with him is important, because this shows that you have your own opinions, you are able to forecast the potential results and always obey his orders at the same time. Consequently, your boss will think that you are reliable and trustworthy person. You will earn a respect from him.

On the other hand, if you only provide a Yes answer to your superior and follow all the instructions, then they might think that you will follow the instructions blindly without thinking of the consequences. Thus, you might not able to outperform your job.
